Master Universitario in Geomatica - CGT, Centro di GeoTecnologie dell’Università degli Studi di Siena (San Giovani Valdarno, a.a. 2020-2021) - scadenza iscrizioni: 23/10/2020 (per il master di I livello)

Salve,

sperando di fare cosa gradita e con la preghiera di massima diffusione, si sottopone alla vostra gentile attenzione l’attivazione anche per l’A.A. 2020-21 del Master Universitario in Geomatica organizzato dal CGT, Centro di GeoTecnologie dell’Università degli Studi di Siena.

Il Master ha l’obiettivo di formare un esperto che abbia un profilo professionale legato allo sviluppo delle moderne tecnologie informatiche in grado di svolgere compiti strategici che vanno dalla progettazione, alla raccolta, all’analisi, alla gestione, alla diffusione e all’aggiornamento dei dati territoriali. Le discipline impiegate a tale scopo sono riferibili a:

 

- Geodesia
- Cartografia Numerica
- Basi di dati e archivi geografici geotematici - GIS
- 3D GIS editing
-  Geo-statistica
-  GPS/GNSS
-  Sistemi di Telerilevamento
-  Fotogrammetria aerea, terrestre e da drone
- LIDAR aereo e terrestre
- BIM (Building Information Modeling)
- Web-GIS

L’esperto in Geomatica, grazie all’integrazione tra queste discipline, potrà trovare sbocchi di applicazione in ambiti di ricerca e lavoro relativi ad agricoltura, scienze forestali, scienze geologiche, topografia, cartografia tematica, geo-ingegneria, pianificazione territoriale e ambientale, media, turismo e difesa.

Forti dell’esperienza del passato, anche per questo anno abbiamo raddoppiato l’offerta formativa, confermando sia un Master di Secondo Livello che un Master di Primo Livello. La scadenza delle iscrizioni è prevista per il 16/10/2020 (Master di Secondo Livello) e per il 23/10/2020 (Master di Primo Livello).

 

Tutti gli iscritti al Master in Geomatica che non godano di altri benefici (Voucher o Borse di studio a copertura totale del costo del Master) avranno diritto all’ALLOGGIO GRATUITO presso il Collegio Universitario del CGT.

Tutti gli studenti potranno inoltre scaricare materiale didattico del Master in formato digitale ed accedere alla biblioteca del CGT.

Objectives

 

The conference aims to discuss the entire ’policy cycle’ to enable enhancing the quality of the water environment, which includes problem recognition, formulation of technical options, policy formulation, interaction between policy makers and stakeholders (i.e. pressure groups), policy implementation, monitoring and research. The conference also aims to facilitate networking opportunities between scientists of different discipline backgrounds i.e. economic, social and natural sciences, as well as between scientists, water managers and policy makers. In short, the objectives are:

  • to provide a forum for exchange of scientific knowledge, research to better understand ’systems function’, modelling and uncertainty;
  • discuss the entire policy cycle for water quality improvement; and
  • to intensify contacts (a) between soil/water related scientists, agro-related scientists, social scientists, ecological scientists and economists, and (b) between scientists, water managers and policy makers.

 

LuWQ2021 is the follow-up to the previous successful LuWQ conferences, namely LuWQ2019 (https://www.luwq2019.dk/) held in Aarhus, Denmark, in June 2019, LuWQ2017 held in The Hague, the Netherlands, in June 2017, LuWQ2015 held in Vienna, Austria, in September 2015 and LuWQ2013 held in The Hague, the Netherlands, in June 2013.

 

To give you a feeling for the essence of LuWQ… The key strength of the conference is twofold. On the one side, LuWQ has a well-defined narrow focus on ‘agriculture and water quality’. On

the other side, the conference is broadly oriented with regard to the various professional disciplines related to the conference topics. Based on the experience from previous Land Use and Water Quality conferences, it is just the diversity in professional background of participants which results in a multi-faceted conference programme. Consequently, LUWQ offers sessions on a broad variety of topics, all of them however dedicated exclusively to agriculture and water quality. In this sense, the conference topics range – to illustrate by a few randomly chosen examples – from scientific research on denitrification and travel time, …, challenges in monitoring and modelling at different scale (parcels, field, region), …, practice-oriented and technical measures to limit leaching of nutrients and agrochemicals, …, development of management options to mitigate effects on water quality in drinking-water protection areas, including cooperation between local governments, water supply companies and farmers, …, to policy development, and lessons to be learned from policy implementation, e.g. comparison of farmers’ behavior between top-down and bottom-up implementation of agri-environmental measures.

 

Conference target groups and keywords

 

Conference target groups (professionals, fields of expertise, audience) are scientists, managers and policy makers involved in the policy cycle for water quality improvement.

 

The conference deals with themes and topics characterised by the following keywords:

  • Keywords for fields of expertise and scientific disciplines: agronomy, agro-economics, agro-sociology, water management, water policy, action plan, river basin management plan, hydrology, soil science, drinking water supply, data analyses (including data sharing)
  • Keywords for system description: aquatic ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems, unsaturated zone, groundwater, surface waters, monitoring, modelling, chemical water quality, biological water quality, nitrate vulnerable zones, river basins, catchments
  • Keywords for best management practices: buffer zones, sedimentation ponds, constructed wetlands, incorporation of fertilisers, catch crops, erosion control, cost effectiveness
  • Keywords for policies and implementation: voluntary measures, laws and regulations, participatory governance, top down versus bottom up, building relationships, gaining trust, raising awareness, evidence based approach
  • Keywords for substances: nutrients, nitrate, phosphorus, pesticides and other organic agrochemicals, heavy metals
