1st International Conference on Soil Sustainability and Innovation
47th National Congress of Soil Science
October 16-20, 2023
Mexico City, Mexico
The Mexican Society of Soil Sciences and Cinvestav Saltillo will held the 1st International Conference on Soil Sustainability and Innovation (ICSSI) on October 19, 2023, as part of the 47th National Congress of Soil Sciences activities, that will take place in the Centro de Exposiciones y Congresos de la UNAM at Mexico City.
This congress brings together scientists, academics, technicians, students, business people, and agricultural and forestry producers, to an ideal forum for exchanging experiences related to the rational and efficient use of soil resources that ultimately lead to sustainable development. The 1st ICSSI will be a dynamic international meeting summarizing the recent advancements and innovations in the science of soil sustainability. The conference will provide a venue (both physical and virtual format) to meet and discuss current research efforts in soil sustainability and innovation and its links to production processes to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
The 1st ICSSI is dedicated to promoting scientific research on soil sustainability management, from evaluation, ecosystem functions, and ecosystem services to the new technics and approaches to study soil to promote sustainable soil management. It provides a forum for worldwide researchers and those interested in exchanging experiences related to the rational and efficient use of soil resources that ultimately lead to sustainable development. This conference will explore the evidence for effective soil management practices, evaluation, and new technics for various habitats and environments. Examples of supported topics are, among others:
- Soil sustainability management
- Soil innovation
- Soil ecology
- Soil organisms
- New approaches to soil harnessing
- Omics technologies
- Nanoscience and nanotechnology
- Crop production and management
To attend this conference, the authors must follow the registration and payment processes of the 47th National Congress of Soil Science, submit their manuscript to the Special Issue and send an e-mail to the coordinators (the signatories of this letter), indicating the title of the contribution that authors are willing to be presented during the 1st ICSSI.
Conference Special Issue
In conjunction with the 1st ICSSI conference, The Journal of Soils and Sediments (JSS; IF=3.536) from Springer Nature Publishing will publish the Special Issue Soil Sustainability and Innovation including papers submitted to and presented at the conference, connecting to the main themes of the Conference. In cooperation with the JSS’s Editor-in-Chief Zhihong Xu, Fabián Fernández-Luqueño, Full Professor and Dulce Flores-Renteria, Conacyt Associate Researcher, both at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute, will serve as Guest Editors of the special issue.
All the submissions will go through the reviewing process of JSS. For this, we encourage to the authors to follow the Journal Instructions for Authors:
